Ghost of Girlfriends Past

May 31, 2009

Last night, me and some friends went to go see the movie, Ghost of Girlfriends Past. It looked funny and good when I first saw the trailer. The movie was really good and funny, but at some parts, were really sad. As much as I don’t want to admit it, I cried. All in all, it is a good story line, great acting, and a movie you have to see. If you are going to see it, try to see it by yourself or with friends because some of the parts in the movie are very awkward to see with a family member.

Dropbox

May 28, 2009

About a week ago, I came across a website called Dropbox and it really fits my needs. Basically it is a website where you can backup all your files either by uploading them from a browser or using the client where it auto uploads them. Its really nice because you can start out with 2 gigs of space and pay absolutely nothing! Plus, you can get up to 3 gigs of space if you continue to invite friends. This is a good application to use because it is cheap and has excellent service. Backup is always important, so when you do your backups, use Dropbox.

Call of Duty 4

May 25, 2009

I have played some shooter games before, but I never did get around to buying them. Recently, one of the IRC networks I am on, Wyldryde, started their own Call of Duty 4 server, so I decided to get it. I have been playing this game a lot since last week when I got it and it is a very good game. I have played some of the single player levels and they are just as good as playing on Wyldryde’s servers. It also encouraged me to buy Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2. If you don’t have this game already, go out and buy it. If you do have it, check out this page and come play with us on Wyldryde’s Game Servers!

Angels and Demons

May 20, 2009

After seeing all the trailers, I finally got to see Angels and Demons on its opening weekend last Saturday. Me and a few friends went to go see it and it was really good. If you are into those historical type movies with puzzles, you will love this movie. If you have seen the DaVinci Code, it is like that except 10 times better. The basic story line is that when Pope John Paul II died the secret society and cult known ass the Illuminati decide to get their revenge on the Catholic Church. They kidnap 5 Cardinals from Vatican City and brand them with the 5 signs of the cult and then attempt to kill them. There is a lot more to it, but I am going to leave you to go see it for yourself.

Star Trek

May 17, 2009

The day after it was released, me and 2 of my friends went to go see Star Trek. Now, if you are a big Star Trek fan, it would take a lot for it to be as good as the original TV series, but it gets pretty darn close. This has to be one of the best movies I have seen in a while. I like how they kept a decent story line throughout. There was only one part I was confused about, but I don’t want to spoil it if you haven’t seen it yet. This is a movie I think non-Star Trek fans would even enjoy. So if you haven’t seen it yet, go to the theater now!

Windows 7 RC

May 14, 2009

Last week, the Official Public Release of the Windows 7 Release Candidate was put up for download. Being the geek I am, I decided to get it and see how much has improved since the Windows 7 Beta Build 7000. I was absolutely shocked. They improved so much stability and performance and definitely cleaned up some things. It is great to use and runs and looks more like a regular OS. If Windows keeps this up, it would be the 2nd best OS that Microsoft has ever released. The only problem I had was when I was getting the Anti-Virus software. Once I loaded it, I automatically got a blue screen of death. So, they need to fix that part. Other than the BSOD, it is really nice.

Tweetie for Mac

May 7, 2009

Since its release a few weeks ago, I have been using a new Twitter client for Mac OS X called Tweetie. Just the other day, I bought the whole copy. Tweetie is a really good Twitter client, but it still needs a little bit of work. It has a really nice interface and has some really good features I use. For instance, in the preferences, you get to choose the image service and URL shortening service that you use when you post to Twitter via Tweetie. You can also choose (as of now) between 2 types of ways to re tweet a post. Some of the things I think would be good to add is the ability to choose how often your client updates tweets, ability to choose some kind of sound it makes when you get new tweets, and Growl support. It is a really nice piece of software and if you get the full version, it is well worth the $19.95.

Internet Explorer 8

May 2, 2009

Earlier this week, all Windows users got an Update which included the official release of the new Internet Explorer 8. Honestly, I really hate Internet Explorer. However, I got the update and decided to try it out for a few days so I can write a review on it. I am kind of impressed. It is a lot more stable and speed has definitely increased. I also like the new features for RSS Feeds. As much as I wasn’t expecting to say it, but I am quite impressed with Microsoft. I still would rather Firefox over Internet Explorer 8, but you should definitely get a chance to try it for a bit.
