Just over a month ago, I set up my home server again and I installed a Linux Distro I always had heard about and always wanted called Debian. I got Debian 5 just a few days after it was first released. I have been using it a lot and it has been running absolutely great. It is an easy Distro to use whether you have a small amount of use for it or a large amount of use for it. I will eventually blog about the software I use on my home server such as Lighttpd, MySQL 5, and PHP5. I would highly suggest this Distro if you are putting together your first Linux server. Of course, it’s Open Source.
